Call California’s 14: Stop Cassidy-Graham Health Bill!

The U.S. Senate is likely to vote this month on a cruel and fiscally reckless health care bill, Cassidy-Graham, that would lead to 6.7 million Californians losing their health insurance by 2027. That’s one in five Californians!

By 2027, California would lose $57.5 billion in yearly federal health care support, much of which goes to providing coverage for people on Medi-Cal/Medicaid. To put that staggering amount of lost money in context, it’s about one-third of California’s entire general fund budget.

Here in California, we’re lucky that both of our Senators, Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, are strongly opposed to Cassidy-Graham. Unfortunately, the U.S. Senate may still have the votes to pass it, and if they do, it will be sprinted to the House for a vote. We need to act now to make California’s 14 Republicans in Congress know that a vote for Cassidy-Graham is a vote for their own retirement.

Sadly, we can’t trust them to do the right thing. All 14 already voted to take health care away from 23 million Americans. All 14 have shown time and time again that they’re comfortable with kicking millions of Americans off Medicaid and ending the promise that people with pre-existing conditions will have affordable access to coverage. Cassidy-Graham is worse than any other health bill we’ve seen this year, and we must do everything we can to stop it. As we like to say at Flip the 14, when you can’t make them see the light, make them feel the heat.

Our sources in the Capitol tell us that call volume on this bill is dangerously low. With so many other big stories in the news, TrumpCare Part 3 isn’t getting the attention it needs. Let’s change that.

Please help us spread the word that these calls are important, especially for Californians who live in one of these 14 districts. They need to know that their constituents oppose Cassidy-Graham. They need to know that we’re paying attention.
